Consultation: What to Expect

In the clinic when we first meet, I will take a history and examine you.  It may be possible to carry out some treatment in the clinic setting, such as an injection into a joint or soft tissue.

A new patient consultation will take approximately

30 minutes.

A review appointment will take approximately

15 minutes.

Sometimes it may be necessary to carry out further investigations to help plan treatment, such as x-rays, scans or nerve studies and these are discussed and organised by me at our initial consultation and we will review the results together at a subsequent appointment.

If surgery is necessary, we will discuss the procedure and expected outcome in detail, so you know exactly what to expect.  I will liaise with you and arrange a date that is mutually convenient and arrange an anaesthetist if a general anaesthetic or sedation is required.  Surgery will take place on site at  Nuffield Brighton Hospital.
